Dear Members,

The time has come to get geared up for our Annual Membership Meeting.  On Monday, April 24th, we will host a meal catered by Big Smith's BBQ at the Alba-Golden ISD Cafetorium.  The meal will be served at 6 pm and our annual business meeting will follow at 7 pm.  We ask that you call the office to RSVP by April 18th.

The candidates for director positions are unopposed this year.  With the passing of a resolution stating that no election is needed, the directors will be Robert Holland and Joey Hooten.  I would like to thank these members for volunteering their time and expertise.  The board is vitally important to this company.

Along with the letter mailed out, there is a ballot to vote on updating our by-laws.  In going over our policies and procedures with the Texas Rural Water Association, updates are needed to bring them up to modern standards.  To view the bylaws go to, http://goldenwatersupplycorp.com/documents/1112/2023_By-Law_revision.pdf

A few topics that have come up this past year worth going over:

1.  In 2021, a law was passed which made ALL account information confidential.  If you would like your information to be made public or shared with certain individuals, we must have written documentation of who can have access.

2.  We are starting to see a trend of hard freezing conditions each year.  I cannot stress the importance of knowing where your valves are and being able to access them when needed.

3.  Several years ago, we began accepting electronic payments as an added convenience for our customers.  Since that time, Golden WSC had absorbed the added convenience cost.  With the boost of electronic transactions since Covid, this cost is growing to a point that it is becoming a burden on our system.  The added cost will soon be the responsibility of the customer to pay on top of the water bill.

The free options we have are still cash, check, money order, or set up an in-house bank draft.  You can also pay your bill at any Mineola Community Bank Branch.
